Event Management Ireland Case Study

Background to the Event Gradam Gnó na Gaeltachta celebrated the spirit of enterprise in the Gaeltacht.  Recognition was given to twenty companies throughout the Gaeltacht for the tremendous work they have carried out in their particular sector, employment creation and the positive impact on the Gaeltacht in general.

These twenty companies from Gaeltachtaí in Galway, Mayo, Kerry, Donegal and Waterford were profiled in a five-part series broadcast on TG4.  The series culminated with a sixth programme in which the 20 nominees competed against each other for 'Gradam Gnó na Gaeltachta 2007' and was shown live on TG4 on Sunday 2 December.

Client Brief

The brief from Údarás na Gaeltachta was to source and contract a suitable venue for the award ceremony and televised event.  Go West Conference & Event Management were contracted to manage and oversee all aspect of the Award Ceremony including:

Design of all printed materials - invitations, menu cards,
seating plan and event programme

Décor and light for the night

Contracting all entertainment required for the event

Mailout of invitations, processing RSVP’s, co-ordinating acceptances

Liaising with TV Production Company.

The Event

Gradam Gnó na Gaeltachta took place on the 23rd of November, 2007 and was a resounding success.

The function room was transformed using high spec lighting and decór.  The stage set was designed and built to reflect the impressive sculptures commissioned as the award for the event.  Tables were dressed with chair covers, lavish table cloths and center pieces created specifically for the occasion. 

Guests were entertained by The Dulcimer Quartet and The Camembert Quartet
